Vol. 1 No. 1 (2020): Scientific Research Journal: Dékamu Agropec
The current Organizing Committee of the Fabiola Salazar Leguía de Bagua National Intercultural University (UNIFSLB) proposed to the Ministry of Education, in June 2019, to publish the first scientific journal of the university at the beginning of 2020. Today, with approval, we attend to the presentation of the first number of the scientific publication of the UNIFSLB called Dékamu Agropec; dékamu is a term from the awajun language that means to know, knowledge. The choice of the term Dékamu by the Editorial Committee of the magazine constitutes a recognition of the Amazon language awajun, one of the most widely spoken by the original communities of Peru. Likewise, it represents an identification of the magazine with the reason for being of the UNIFSLB: interculturality. Interculturality implies the critical and creative confluence of the knowledge, know-how, practices, experiences and artistic manifestations of the original Awajun and Wampis communities of the north-eastern region of Amazonas with the knowledge, science, technology and art of the so-called "Western culture" predominant in Peru, from the perspective of solving the problems and needs of the mentioned ethnic groups that for years have lived in socio-economic and cultural marginalization.
