Scientific publication corresponds to the final stage of the scientific research process that begins with the planning of the study, continues with the execution and ends with the publication of the results. In the 19th and 20th centuries, the philosophy of positivism had a decisive influence on the process of scientific research, pointing out that only concrete, measurable and verifiable knowledge is scientific and therefore proposing a research method based on the observation of reality, hypothesis statement and the use of statistical tools. This paradigm allowed a great development of the basic natural sciences such as physics, chemistry and biology and of certain disciplines related to the biological sciences such as medicine and nursing. Today, the development of humanistic currents has allowed the generation of new theories and methodologies in the new science that have been enabling new openings in scientific research and in the development of new related disciplines has today shaped the existence of a complex world that its study it requires that, a complex thought (in the words of E. Morin) to know it, understand it and transform it.
