Inefficient management of byproducts in the coconut supply chain limits agroindustrial competitiveness and environmental sustainability. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the adoption of circular economy models and productive performance in the province of Utcubamba. Using a quantitative approach and a descriptive-correlational cross-sectional design, a probabilistic sample of 300 producers (N=1,350) was evaluated using validated Likert-scale instruments with high internal consistency. Statistical analyses, conducted using Spearman’s Rho coefficient due to the lack of normality in the data distribution, revealed a moderate and significant positive correlation (rho = .624; p < 0.05) between the integration of circular practices and the optimization of agricultural yields. The findings suggest that the systematic reuse of biological waste and efficiency in the use of energy inputs are associated with productive performance. It is concluded that the transition toward closed-loop systems not only mitigates negative externalities but also constitutes a strategic competitive advantage. This study provides crucial empirical evidence for the design of public policies focused on the bioeconomy in developing tropical regions.
